Editorial Guidelines

Healthy Beverages in Childcare is written for parents and for the people who look after young kids during the day. These are the rules we follow when we write.

Where our information comes from

For anything about health, nutrition or safety, we start with published guidance from pediatric and public health organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics (through HealthyChildren.org), the CDC and national childcare health and safety standards. When a post gives amounts, ages or limits, they come from those sources, not from our opinion.

What we write from experience

Packing lists, snack ideas, drop-off routines and the like come from everyday experience with little kids and daycare life. We say so when something is a tip rather than official guidance.

What we do not do

We do not give medical advice about individual children, we do not diagnose, and we do not recommend supplements or special products over plain food and drinks. If a topic needs a doctor, we tell you to ask one.

Updates and corrections

Guidance changes over time. We review older posts and update them when recommendations change. If you spot a mistake, tell us through the contact page and we will check it and fix it.

Independence

We do not run ads and nobody pays us to mention a product. If that ever changes, we will say so clearly on the post.
