Here are quick reference fact sheets on healthy beverages in child care. We encourage you to share these with others who are concerned about providing healthy beverages to children in child care.

California Childcare Health Program - This handout gives a brief summary of AB 2084, also known as the Healthy Beverages in Child Care Act, which sets improved beverage standards for licensed child care in California.

California Food Policy Advocates, UC Berkeley Center for Weight & Health, and UC San Francisco - This fact sheet gives recommendations for improving children's health and preventing obesity, based on research that found that water should be served between and during meals and snacks.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) - This CDC report, called "Rethink Your Drink," has easy-to-read information for how many calories are in popular beverages, which can also be used to create simple calorie fact sheets. Click here for the webpage version.

Yale Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity - This user-friendly website has two-page handouts called "Nutrition Minutes" that can be used as learning tools for choosing healthier beverages.  These handouts are also available in Spanish and Chinese.

Color Me Healthy - This handout breaks down the number of servings of healthy beverages appropriate for different age-groups.

Kick the Can - This new website offers multiple fact sheets that advocate for giving sugary drinks the boot!
